Kat Kern

Kat is a Master Colorist and Cutter. She trained and specialized in each.
Since 1998, when her career began, Kat Kern has been living by her
motto: “Hair is everything!” With a passion for hair styling and love of
making each person she encounters feel fresh and renewed, she believes
hair is the frame to your beautiful face and should enhance your best
Kat’s career began in San Francisco’s Union Square neighborhood where
she has spent the last 18 years. Initially on Maiden Lane with both 77
Maiden Lane Salon and Joseph Cozza. She completed training and
mastering Vidal Sassoon cutting and Wella International color techniques.
Over the years, she has developed a specialty in curly and fine hair, where
she takes special care to work with the curl/wave pattern, texture and
growth pattern of each head she encounters. Kat uses a special dry cut
technique she developed early in her career for a perfect result. Kat also
trained for many years with Hair Pieces, extensions and wig work. A unique
and rare skill. Kat provides the Keratin Smoothing Complex for a complete
and polished look.
Kat stays very current and inspired through continual education and
retaining new techniques for the most updated hair trends. Her career has
included styling for the stars, photo shoots and set work both in San
Francisco and in New York. You can catch her work featured in Magazines

Liuda Marcinkeviciute

Web -Liuda Marcinkeviciute-9465Born and raised in Lithuania were she studied art from the age of 10 through 24 years of age graduating from the Academy of Arts in Vilnius. Over the years her training included working in painting, sculpting, graphic arts and fashion design. For 10 years she was in the European fashion industry displaying her collection of Haute Couture and Prêt-à-Porter (exclusive custom-fitted clothing), shoes, hair, makeup designs, music and special effects at fashion runway shows throughout Europe along with famous designers such as Paco Rabanne, Slava Zaitsev amongst others.

Liuda emigrated to the United States and later began her training as a hair stylist and colorist at Carlton Hair International in San Francisco in 2000. Starting as an apprentice and after having gone through educational and training classes in N.Y. and L.A. she became mentor stylist with many of her trainees now working throughout San Francisco and beyond at various salons.

Liuda’s starts with each client with a thorough consultation. Her background in art, fashion and hair gives her an overall vision for each client’s individual look that fits their specific needs desired custom look and custom color formulations.

As a colorist she is a popular choice for blondes but loves working with the full spectrum of tones and colors. She is not afraid to take on the challenge of color correction. She enjoys looking for ways to find the missing ingredient that is needed to complete and enhance her clients look.

As a stylist she has a passion for creating both masculine and soft feminine textured haircuts.

Ron Lee

Stylist Ron Lee has been creating signature looks on a diverse clientele for over 30 years. Ron’s illustrious salon career began at Vidal Sassoon SF, where he held the esteemed title of creative director from 1977-1988. Following Sassoon, his experience includes the former San Francisco salon Architects & Heroes. At Architects & Heroes, Ron was not only part of the opening team, but also served as the creative director that put the former salon at the cutting edge of San Francisco’s fashion scene. Ron now comes to Suite Five Salon from Elevation, where he was a top stylist for the past nine years.

Lee has participated in numerous industry and media events that have earned him mentions in fashion publications such as Vogue, Bazaar, Allure, and San Francisco magazine. He has also recently been named the top curly hair stylist in San Francisco by NaturallyCurly.com.

When he is not working, Lee hones his bowling skills (a 200 average!) and is a competitive bass fisherman.

Janice Shukovsky

untitled shoot-015Janice Shukovsky started her 15 + year styling career assisting in various salons in Beverly Hills and then moved up to Vidal Sassoon San Francisco where she worked as a stylist and also taught in the Vidal Sassoon Education Center and The Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica  educating Sasoon’s assistants as well as external stylists from all over the world. Janice moved to Elevation Salon in 2002 and continued her career as a stylist and educator. Her av ante-garde techniques are showcased in her opportunities in her work on commercial film shoots, photo shoots, and special engagements, while still working behind the chair working with her clients.  Through this modern world where everyone is overloaded with information, Janice strives to guide her clients through all the overwhelming choices of haircuts and styles based on their individuality and does so with precision.

Lori Talarico

Lori Talarico worked as a stylist, educator, and platform artist for both Vidal Sassoon and Architects and Heroes. Experience in styling for weddings, photo shoots and fashion shows. Works very well with fine hair, curly hair, women’s short hair, and barbering. Over 25 years experience in San Francisco.
