March 17, 2022 Update

We are committed to the continued safety and well-being of our staff and clients. Effective March 1, 2022, J. Roland Salon will offer clients the optional use of facemasks for fully vaccinated individuals per the City and County of San Francisco vaccination requirements. We will require proof of vaccination upon check-in at the reception desk. Due to the nature of the personal care service, all unvaccinated individuals must wear a face mask at all times within the facility.


Below are some of the simple, but highly effective, measures we will continue to practice:

  • Those exhibiting flu-like symptoms will be asked to reschedule their appointment.
  • Hand sanitizer and/or hand washing stations will be available upon entry and throughout the salon.
  • Routine cleaning/disinfecting of surfaces.
  • Additional guests accompanying clients who are not receiving services may be asked to wait outside due to capacity limitations.
  • Plexiglass shields at our reception desk.
  • Due to any sudden changes in schedules, please confirm we have your current email and phone number should we need to contact you unexpectedly.


We know this has been one of the most trying times for us, but together we will all be better, safer, and stronger. Your cooperation is required, and we deeply appreciate your support and understanding.

We are committed to the continued safety and well-being of our staff and clients. Beginning Tuesday October 13, 2021, health officers have required face masks to be worn indoors for businesses providing personal services regardless of vaccination status.


We will be required to continue to do things a little differently. Some of the simple, but highly effective, measures we will be practicing include:

  • Those exhibiting flu-like symptoms will be asked to reschedule their appointment.
  • Hand sanitizer and/or hand washing stations will be available upon entry and throughout the salon.
  • Routine cleaning/disinfecting of surfaces.
  • Additional guests accompanying clients who are not receiving services may be asked to wait outside due to capacity limitations.
  • Plexiglass shields at our reception desk.

We are committed to the continued safety and well-being of the staff and our clients. In observance of social distancing, we will continue to be limit the number of stations occupied in the salon. This will allow for at least 6 feet between seated clients receiving services.


The San Francisco Department of Public Health is no longer requiring on-site pre-entry health checks. Please use the link provided here [https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/coronavirus-self-checker.html] to conduct a Coronavirus Self-Checker.

• Beginning Tuesday August 3, 2021, regardless of vaccination status, health official's have required face masks to be worn indoors.
• Those exhibiting flu-like symptoms will be asked to reschedule their appointment.
• Hand sanitizer and/or hand washing stations will be available upon entry and throughout the salon.
• Routine cleaning/disinfecting of surfaces hourly and/or after every client.
• Additional people accompanying clients who are not receiving services may be asked to step outside due to capacity limitations.
• Plexiglass shields at our reception desk.
• Please comply to all posted signs within the salon.
• Due to any sudden changes in schedules, please confirm we have your current email and phone number should we need to contact you unexpectedly.

We are excited to announce that we are open for indoor services beginning Thursday January 28th! Please call us at 415.392.2969 to schedule the next available appointment with your stylist.


We are committed to the continued safety and well-being of the staff and our clients. In observance of the required social distancing, we have reduced our staffing capacity to 25% per day. This will allow for at least 6 feet or more between seated clients receiving services.

We will be required to do things a little differently. Some of the simple, but highly effective, measures we will be enforcing include:

  • Mandatory use of masks for all staff and clients at all times.
  • Only those with temperatures of 99 and under will be allowed inside the salon.
  • Hand sanitizer and/or hand washing stations will be available upon entry.
  • Avoid hugging and shaking hands to prevent unnecessary contact.
  • Cleaning/disinfecting of surfaces hourly and/or after every client.
  • No-Contact checkout whenever available.
  • Clients will be required to wear a clean salon robe over their clothing and keep all clothing items with them at all times, including jackets.
  • We can only allow clients receiving services into the salon, no extra guests.
  • Please comply to all posted signs within the salon.
  • No food and beverages.


We have also installed plexiglass shields at our reception desk. We will be discontinuing our beverage and magazine service.
